There are many ways to support the work of SMWRC!

  • Monetary Donations:

By far our biggest expenses are food and veterinary care. Each of our wildlife patients requires a specialized diet. Injured wildlife often need specialized veterinary care and medication. A donation to South Mountain Wildlife Rehabilitation Center will help cover these important costs.

For your convenience, donations can be made on-line using major credit cards through the following secure websites:

  • Wildlife Sponsorship:

You can help New Jersey’s wildlife and support the work of SMWRC by sponsoring a “wild child” with a monthly donation.

Monthly sponsorships help us to provide food and medical care for the animal(s) of your choice. All sponsors will receive:

• A certificate listing you as the official sponsor of your animal.

• A photograph of your sponsored wild child and a progress report, including information on its release.

• Subscription to our newsletter which includes information and facts about our wild neighbors, as well as tips to avoid nuisance situations.

Gift sponsorships are also available.

  • Don’t Throw it Away — Recycle for Wildlife:

SMWRC also welcomes donations of specific items that can be used to provide habitat enrichment for convalescing and orphaned patients.

The following is a list of items that are in constant demand, many of which you may have in your home. Before you discard them, consider donating them for wildlife!

  • Puppy and cat chow
  • Yogurt
  • Various baby foods and rice cereal
  • Puppy pads or cage liners
  • Heating pads
  • Fresh fruits and vegetables (even ones that are less than fresh!)
  • Cleaning supplies including: laundry detergent, household bleach, paper towels, spray cleaners, dishwashing liquid, etc.
  • Please consider donating your coupons to help us purchase liquid laundry detergent, household bleach, papers towels, dishwashing liquid, cotton balls, Q-Tips, Pedialyte and jars of baby food.

  • Cash for Critters:

SMWRC accepts used ink and toner cartridges for recycling, as well as old cell phones, as part of the Cash for Critters Recycle Program.

Thank you for your support!
